Edgewater Looks To End Winter Park's Winning Ways
The Wildcats try to remain unbeaten when they travel to Edgewater to take on the Eagles Friday night in our Showdown of the Week.
Winter Park (5-0) is coming off a thrilling overtime win against Timber Creek 13-7. Running backs Patrick Mputu and Zee Ware are threats to score in the backfield, while quarterback Sam Richardson can beat you with his arm. The trio will pose a threat to the Edgewater defense.
The Eagles (3-2) are coming off a 35-6 win over district rival Liberty. Quarterback Kent Gainous proved he can beat you with his legs or his arm, rushing for two scores, and completing five of eight passes for 84 yards.
This week's Florida AP Poll has Winter Park ranked 9th in Class 6A, with Edgewater receiving votes in Class 4A.
Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
