National Signing Day 2010
National Signing Day is finally here and Central Florida claims some of the top recruits in the state.
Wednesday marks the first day football players can officially sign with a college team. Up until then, players have been making non-binding verbal commitments to teams.
Many highly ranked recruits had already committed but a handful are keeping fans in suspense including Lake Howell linebacker Christian Jones. The senior is ranked the number 27 overall prospect and number two outside linebacker according to the ESPN U 150.

Who could forget last year's NSD?
 Seminole High football star Andre Debose signs to play for the University of Florida on February 4, 2009.
Seminole High School Wednesday is the first day high school football players can sign their letters of intent for their top college pick.
6A State Champs Seminole started the day off strong. Ray Ray Armstrong and Dyron Dye signed with Miami, a pick they announced at the Under Armour game in January. Andre Debose stuck with his Under Armour game decision as well and signed with the Florida Gators.
Debose said despite comparison's to current Gator Percy Harvin, "I'm a whole different person."
As far as his decision to go to Florida, Debose said he put his education first in his decision. (Video)
Jarkevis Fields also signed on Wednesday. He made it official with Bethune Cookman.
Coach Cullison said a few 'Noles are still undecided and will sign at a later date. He said there should be a total of 10 players signing with colleges this year. There were no surprises at Dr. Phillips for Signing Day. Quarterback Nico Ranieri stuck with his committment to Colorado State, Victor Gray put pen to paper for UCF and E.J. Carter signed with Syracuse.
Apopka was home to one of the few uncommitted players in Central Florida until Wednesday. Larvez "Pooh Bear" Mars decided to sign with FIU after leaving fans in suspense for months. Apopka quarterback Jeremy Gallon will head to Michigan and Caleb Nelson signed with Stephen F. Austin in Texas. Over at Edgewater, Eagle safety Henry Wright made it official with UCF. Wright said UCF was his number one school from the beginning and he is excited to stay close to home.
Corner back Derrick Strozier signed with Tulane, a Conference USA rival of UCF’s. The teammates-turned-rivals said they look forward to meeting on the field.
Also at Edgewater, Shermane Teart signed with Troy and Brad Sweatt signed with Charleston Southern. Rivals.com three star safety Mike Jones already signed his letter of intent and made the move up to Michigan for the spring semester.
Edgewater’s Coach Gierke announced that another player would sign at noon, but did not disclose his name or which school he would be signing with. Later in the day, receiver and kick returner Quincy McDuffie signed with UCF. The offer was not made until Wednesday morning. McDuffie had hoped to stay close to home and jumped on the late offer.
Gierke thanked Edgewater's teachers and guidance counselors for helping support his team throughout their journey to signing day.
