Hagerty High’s fast-pitch softball team met their match in Daytona Beach on April 18 when they faced off against Lake Howell’s superior Silver Hawks.

Although the Huskies didn’t submit without a struggle, Lake Howell earned the FHSAA title of District 5a champions.

During the game, Hagerty kept their opposition from scoring and tied it up for four innings, But Lake Howell wouldn’t stay subdued for long, the Silver Hawks picked up momentum and widened their lead by three points in the fifth inning alone.

In the end, the scoreboard would read six to one, Lake Howell. The teams then received their respective trophies from host school Seabreeze High’s long-time Althletic Director, Jerry Chandler.

Both teams had plenty to be proud of after the hard-fought match-up and stellar season.
